About us...

The Hendreds Preschool meets in purpose-built premises at Snells Hall in East Hendred and provides a safe environment in which children can thrive and progress. Our ethos of "Respect, Independence, Challenge" is built into everything that we do. The high staff ratio helps to ensure that we meet the individual needs of your child. The staff are highly qualified and experienced. Members of staff have up to date First Aid certificates and are regularly trained in Child Protection matters.

The preschool is overseen by a committee of volunteers, mainly parents. Who meet once a term and work closely with the staff. Without committee members the preschool would cease to run. If you can spare an evening a term, why not join us and get to know the preschool better. Contact us on hendredspreschool@outlook.com for more details.

All committee meetings are held at 8pm at The Eyston Arms, ask the team or read the newsletter for the dates.

The preschool works in accordance with the newly revised Early Years Foundation Stage and so ensures that the children gain the skills that they need in order to be ready for school.

During their time at our preschool children will be involved in many visits to the local park, village shop, churches and the immediate area to discover the many wonders that nature and the community offer.

The preschool is building strong links with the local primary schools and visits them several times a year. Moving to one of the two local schools becomes a very gentle step when the children know so many classmates already and have already met their class teacher and visited the school.

Quotes from parents:

July 2019:

"For two years my littlest boy had the best keyworker at preschool that we could have ever wished for. That person that has the ability to brighten any room they walk into; the hug that reassures you everything is just fine and the empathy of a family member. "

July 2019:

"Hendreds preschool have been amazing with our  daughter and there is one lady who we have to say a massive thank you to, that is her keyworker , some people are just born to work with children and this lady is one of them she has been incredible. Her time and patience with our daughter has given our once shy and struggling little lady the confidence to be ready for school! Thanks ladies you have been the best."

January 2019:

"Hendreds preschool is a very happy and friendly place. My child has thrived since attending the preschool and loves attending. All the staff are so friendly and the care and support the children receive is brilliant. The activities are fun and educational and the atmosphere is wonderful. My child loves everything they do at preschool."
